LSU to Sponsor 6th Annual Undergraduate Research Conference

LA-SiGMA undergraduates are encouraged to participate in the 6th Annual LSU Undergraduate Research Conference on Friday, October 31. This year's theme is "Excite/Explore/Experiment," with the goal to provide a dynamic forum for undergraduate students to present their research, interact with faculty, and develop collaboration with peers.

The oral and poster presentation competition is open to students conducting research in STEM and the Social Sciences at a university or community college. This year's categories include: Life Sciences, Math & Physical Sciences, Engineering & Technology, and Social Sciences. Participants will enjoy keynote speaker Dr. Winston Anderson, HHMI Professor from Howard University. Furthermore, and keeping in the Halloween spirit, students will "Explore the Science of Zombies" during the afternoon session.

The Conference is sponsored by the LSU Office of Strategic Initiatives. Activities are scheduled from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. in the LSU Union Cotillion Ballroom. Registration is $20, which covers lunch & refreshments, and is required for all presenters and other participants. For more information and to register, visit http://www.i3.lsu.edu/urc.
