Programs

Economic Development

The LONI Institute will work closely with university, state and national groups and companies to develop University-Industry Research Centers. The principal investigators for the LI also are working with the Louisiana Department of Economic Development and the Council on Competitiveness on projects to aid business and industry.

Education and Outreach

The LONI Institute capitalizes on CCT's efforts to expose students in K-12 grades to cyberinfrastructure at a younger age, with the hope they will pursue careers in those fields. The outreach program will introduce computational and analytical concepts in exciting ways that appeal to K-12 students to advance their science, technology, engineering and mathematics education, to educate and impact the general public and to provide opportunities for faculty throughout Louisiana to be engaged in advancement activities.

Training

The LI staff computational scientists will work with LONI staff and its member campuses to develop and hold training workshops on the use of LONI and its advanced cyber-services, as well as annual conferences and workshops. Themes will be based on overlaps between various partnerships, such as application-based workshops and toolbased workshops. For HPC training for LONI users, please visit the HPC at LSU website.
